Job Description:
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of automation projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Create a timeline and resource allocation strategy to ensure project milestones are met.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead cross-functional project teams, setting clear roles and responsibilities. Motivate team members to meet project objectives and deliver high-quality automation solutions.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure projects stay on track. Proactively address challenges that may impact project success.
- Vendor and Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source necessary components and equipment for automation projects. Ensure timely delivery and quality control.
- Client Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and managing client expectations.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure the automation systems meet industry standards and client requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and change requests.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all projects adhere to relevant industry regulations and safety standards.
- Post-Implementation Evaluation: Conduct post-project reviews to assess project performance, capture lessons learned, and make recommendations for process improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in managing industrial automation projects, with a track record of successful project deliveries.
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, robotics, and control systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or similar.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards related to industrial automation.
- Ability to travel to customer sites for installation (up to 20%).
