Job Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will lead the design and evaluation of mechanical systems as part of the overall integrated system design by reviewing customer & product specifications, developing conceptual layouts, as well as 3D modeling and detailing for ease of manufacturing in our state of the art fabrication shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the mechanical design of robotic integrated systems
- Design custom jigs & fixtures, poke yoke, EOAT, and material transfer units.
- Identify, formulate and execute solutions to complex manufacturing problems
- Develop and troubleshoot factory automation equipment by working side by side with the assembly team to ensure a robust design
- Engage in smart manufacturing process development
- Conduct customer specifications reviews to ensure all components are built to agree specifications.
- Conduct design reviews with internal and external customers
- Prepare and build customer documentation packages
Skills and Qualifications
- SolidWorks, Catia or similar 3D modeling experience is a MUST
- Solid Understanding of machining and welding methods
- Solid Understanding of GD&T as pertains to manufacturing
- Excellent communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related program
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience with most of the following:
- Design of equipment for use in a manufacturing environment,
- Automated machinery
- Air Cylinders
- Motors & Gearboxes
- Timing belts
