Job Description:

As a Mechanical Engineering Co-op in machine and tooling design at Autotool Inc., you will play a key role in developing and improving our machinery and tooling systems. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary engineering team to design, analyze, and optimize mechanical systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and
efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and objectives.
  • Develop detailed machine and tooling designs, including 2D and 3D CAD modeling.
  • Perform structural and thermal analysis to ensure the robustness and safety of designs.
  • Create prototypes and conduct testing to validate design concepts.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to oversee the production of machines and tooling.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement in existing systems.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or recently obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with FEA and simulation tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn about industrial automation technologies.
  • Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
